We are constantly on a mission to add smart, innovative and fun-loving team members, and are looking for an Assistant Buyer, E-Commerce (Women’s) to come join our New York based headquarters.
Our HQ Office is located in Lower Manhattan and our teams are on-site 3 days per week.Reporting to the Senior Buyer, E-Commerce (Women's), the Assistant Buyer will play a critical role in supporting the Senior Buyer in all aspects of the buying process, including trend research, analyzing sales, order planning, and inventory management.
They will be responsible for helping to maintain all buy documents and reporting to assist the Senior Buyer in driving sales, margin, inventory turn and growth.
They will also partner with Senior Buyer in developing and executing a strategic vision with a progressive, customer centric-approach.
Primary ResponsibilitiesBuying / Assortment StrategySupport Buyer / Senior Buyer, E-Commerce in the day-to-day management of all assigned categoriesAssist with bottoms-up buying for assigned areas of business, in partnership with Senior Buyer, E-CommerceCollaborate with merchandising, planning, and wholesale teams to create a balanced assortment in terms of brand vision, fashion vision, quality, fit, value, price point, style / SKU count, key item depth, and profitabilityMaintain awareness of competitive landscape and identify trends in marketplace, own competitive analysis & patterning projects;
make recommendations to Buyer on how to apply to E-Commerce assortmentOwn monthly share-outs with product development and / or site teamsPartner with Customer Experience & Comfort Concierge Teams to understand and share customer insights with appropriate product teamsReceive product delivery updates from Production & Operations teams and own responsibility for communicating delays or pull forwards to front-facing, cross-functional teamsOwn communication with marketing teams on product availability to ensure product is available on-site prior to usage of any content intended to drive traffic to specific PLPs and PDPsOwn review of creative assets and PDP imagery to ensure product is accurately reflected on siteResponsible for keying in orders into 7th Online to place fashion buysCreate and Maintain cheat sheets and all buying tools necessary to keep cross-functional teams up to dateHelp to prepare for cross-functional Milestone meetings (ie.
Hindsight, Budget & Strategy, Investment Reviews, etc.) by pulling together data to help support and validate points of view with factsHelp with divisional assortment sheet management to direct Site Optimization team on imaging and PDP needs to launch product on-site to hit launch timelinesBusiness AnalysisOwn maintenance and updates of weekly style selling reportsConsistently review style selling reports to understand best & worst sellers, as well as in-season and future product opportunities to help optimize the E-Commerce businessSite ExperienceManage partnership with Site Team to optimize the website.
Scan site daily to ensure that TJ is consistently putting best foot forwardResponsible for creating seasonal e-comm shot list & track assets.
Works with Creative Operations to ensure product is captured accurately and representative of final bulk productBuild and execute alignment of site merchandising strategies with pre-season buy initiatives and in-season site recommendationsSystems Work / Sample ManagementOwn management of buying team & E-Commerce photoshoot samplesPartner with Global Merchant (current owner) on maintaining Merchandising sections within PLM system each season, including the execution of adds, drops, and changes to the assortmentQualifications, Skills, & ExperienceMinimum of 2 years of experience in retail buying, preference for e-Commerce exposureBachelor’s Degree or equivalentDemonstrates alignment with TJ core values : Humble, Adaptable, Mindful, GSD, & CuriousMust be highly organized & possess strong analytical skillsStrong computer skills : Word, Excel, Google SheetsFlexible to deadline demands, ability to multitask in a fast paced environmentExceptional attention to detailExcellent communication skillsMust be self-motivatedAbility to be on-site in our HQ Office in Lower Manhattan 3 days per weekSome awesome reasons to join us at Tommy John : Our Team Culture of Collaboration and Community;
