What you’ll be doing :
- Working with the IT Team lead, assessing hardware and software requirements for computer refreshes, including evaluating compatibility, performance, and security considerations.
- Supporting the procurement of necessary equipment and software licenses in accordance with budgetary guidelines and organizational requirements.
- Preparing and configuring new computers and devices for deployment, including installing operating systems, applications, and updates.
- Redeploying or decommissioning old devices
- Maintaining an inventory listing of all assets
- Providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users during the computer refresh process, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and effectively.
- Collaborating with relevant parties, to coordinate refresh activities and communicate project status and updates.
- Documenting procedures, configurations, and inventory records related to computer refresh activities, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Staying informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in computer hardware and software to continuously improve the computer refresh process.
- Traveling between Edmonton and Calgary is required. Access to a company vehicle provided.
What you bring to the table :
- Pursuing a diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in an IT support or technical role, with a focus on computer hardware and software.
- IT certifications (, CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional) preferred but not required.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware components, peripherals, and operating systems (Windows, macOS).
- Proficiency in software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with imaging and deployment tools (, Microsoft SCCM, MDT, Ghost).
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with end-users and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware components, peripherals, and operating systems (Windows, macOS).
- Proficiency in software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
