Medtronic’s Supply Chain is at the heart of the company, focused on ensuring the right product is in the right place at the right time to meet our customer’s and patient’s needs.
This individual will collaborate with multiple stakeholders to provide timely analysis, insightful guidance, and financial leadership to the Distribution Centers in the United States and Deliver project management office.
This role requires extensive cross-functional partnership with various operations, supply chain, transportation, distribution center and finance teams to identify best practices and build capabilities to lead cost improvement efforts through better data driven decisions.
This position plays a pivotal role supporting our financial operations and strategies of our distribution centers. The primary focus will be to optimize financial performance, drive cost-efficiency, and provide day-to-day financial support.
This position reports to the US Distribution Center Senior Finance Manager. This position will sit out of our new distribution center in Woolwich, New Jersey.

A DAY IN THE LIFE
The key responsibilities of this role include collaborating with Supply Chain Distribution Center Leadership across United States, and other stakeholders to understand financial drivers and provide financial visibility to leadership to influence decision making and drive business results of the transportation.
In addition, this finance position will be responsible for analytical modeling essential for supporting strategic initiatives and achieving key Supply Chain metrics.
Day-to-Day Financial Support :
- Provide comprehensive financial support to the day-to-day operations of our Distribution Centers, including but not limited to budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
- Collaborate closely with operational leaders to understand their financial needs and challenges and develop solutions to address them effectively.
- Participates in monthly close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations, to ensure integrity of financial results and appropriate management visibility.
Financial Analysis and Reporting :
- Conduct thorough financial analysis to identify key trends, risks, and opportunities within the Distribution Centers, and present findings to senior management.
- Prepare regular financial reports and dashboards to track performance metrics, monitor KPIs, and support decision-making processes.
Business Partnering :
- Serve as a trusted business partner to operational leaders, providing financial insights, guidance, and recommendations to drive operational efficiency and profitability.
- Drives strategic Supply Chain initiatives through financial modeling, ad-hoc analysis, and reporting.
- Actively participate in cross-functional teams and initiatives to support strategic business objectives and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, procedures, and controls, and assist in the implementation of best practices to enhance financial governance.
- Work across matrix to understand drivers of results and communicate to Senior Management.
Budgeting and Forecasting :
- Lead the annual budgeting process for the Distribution Centers, working closely with operational teams to develop accurate and achievable financial plans.
- Provide ongoing support for forecasting activities, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives, and incorporating any changes in market conditions or business dynamics.
Must Have : Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors degree required
- Minimum of 7 years of finance and / or accounting experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years experience
Nice to Have
- BA / BS in Accounting, Business or Finance
- MBA, CMA or CPA, or other financial certifications
- Exceptional leadership and business partnering skills
- Experience with SAP and Hyperion; proficient in Excel
- Strong qualitative and quantitative analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Solid accounting foundation with demonstrated financial modeling experience
- Ability to mine large amounts of data for insights and analytical recommendations
- Experience leading process improvement projects (Green Belt+)
- Strong communication, collaboration, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of projects and ability to work with various levels of management
