Job Summary

The Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer I (RDCS-I) is part of the patient care team and is entrusted with the care of patients undergoing cardiac sonographer studies on an inpatient and / or outpatient basis.

Pay Range

Minimum $42.69 Midpoint $56.57 Maximum $70.43 Experience

• Required : Graduate of an accredited Congenital Heart Disease or Pediatric Echocardiography training program that included clinical experience.
• Preferred : One year of adult Echocardiography experience.

Education

Required : Graduate of an accredited Congenital Heart Disease or Pediatric Echocardiography training program that included clinical experience.

Specialized Skills

• Required : Ability to communicate professionally, understand patient family centered care expectations and receive professional instruction to promote teamwork to achieve CHOC's mission.
• Able to work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone;

recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail.

Preferred : Bilingual

Licensure

• Required : Basic Life Support Certification (BLS); must obtain credentialing in Pediatric Echocardiography (RDCS -PE) by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonography (RCCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) upon hire or must obtain within one (1) year of hire.
• Preferred : Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) credential by CCI.

Work Environments - Functional Demand :

Light - Moderate energy level Lift and carry 25-35 lbs. Push / pull 50-100 lbs. (ie. empty bed, stretcher).
