Pharmacy Technician Float

Overview

Greets customers in a professional manner. Assists pharmacist (under direct supervision) with filling new and refill prescriptions.

Processes and enters patient demographic and insurance information into the computer system accurately. Answers and forwards phone messages properly.

Restocks inventory and provides general maintenance of stock area (including cleaning / dusting shelves, monitoring dates on inventory).

Delivers to customers with proper payment collections. Accurately prepares daily bank deposit.

• Full time / 1.0 FTE / 80 hours biweekly
• Variable Hours - No nights or weekends
• Floats between Janesville and Milton, WI

Responsibilities

• Receive and store Pharmacy inventory and supplies.
• Pharmacy software knowledge to be able to process most new and refill prescription orders.
• Prepare prescription to be checked by Pharmacist through retrieving products from inventory, counting out correct volumes, and applying labels according to supervising Pharmacist' instructions.
• Thorough knowledge of Point of Sale cash registers resulting in accurate end-of-day balancing.
• Cleans equipment, shelves, countertops, sinks and anything else to maintain a clean working environment.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Graduate of a pharmacy technician program preferred.

Certification and Licensure

Pharmacy Technician Licensure required

Pharmacy Technician Certification Board required within twelve months of hire.

Computer skills

Good interpersonal skills

Good interpretive / analytical skills for medication dosage calculations, etc.
