The Director of Annual Giving develops, implements, and evaluates fundraising activities and initiatives to generate over $3 million annually in unrestricted operating support, and manage all aspects of the Annual Giving program.

As a senior member of the Development team, they will participate in the implementation of the school’s overall development, alumni relations, and communications activities, particularly in relationship to annual giving and overall fundraising.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Fundraising, Program Management, and Volunteer Management (70%)

Lead and implement the Annual Giving strategy for and solicitation of all constituencies to meet goals for total dollars and participation from alumni, parents, parents of alumni, grandparents, faculty / staff and friends of the school.

Develop and implement individual solicitation strategies for donors rated $5,000 and higher. This will be conducted in conjunction with other pertinent prospect managers.

Support Executive Director of Development and Alumni Relations (10%)

Provide assistance on an as-needed basis to help further the Development Office to reach goals outside of Annual Giving. Including but not limited to :

  • Lead donor stewardship
  • Headmaster’s Counselors

Utilize interoffice communications to help the development office reach goals efficiently. Serve as a member of the prospect managers group.

Represent Annual Giving at meetings of the Development Committees and Campaign Committees.

Management (10%)

Manage the Assistant Director of Annual Giving whose responsibilities include support for Parent volunteer management, Annual Giving-related marketing, database management and reporting, donor relations, and some administrative work.

Other (10%)

Actively seek opportunities for professional development, as budget allows. Attend and provide support to major department events.

Help promote a culture of philanthropy at St. Albans School; furthering the understanding of philanthropy among all School constituents.

Be an active and visible participant in the life of St. Albans School.
