Summary
Leads the research, development, design, and test of hardware / software components, equipment and systems. Provides analysis related to the design, development and implementation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Follow current TE development processes.
- Participate in Process Improvement activities including process generation, checklists and data analysis.
- Perform tasks according to budget and schedule.
- Use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
- Prepare technical status reports, as required.
- Occasional travel requiring overnight stays may be required. Airline travel must be acceptable.
- Design portions of electronic test equipment, for both in-house use (Factory Acceptance and Engineering development).
- Interface with customers including providing inputs to technical presentations, telecoms, formal reviews, etc.
- Develop and debug Test Programs Sets (TPSs) for production hardware including LabView and LabWindows applications based on explicit and derived requirements.
- Contribute to designs that advance Statistical Process Control (SPC), Cpk error analysis tools and features.
- Provide technical support to other engineering disciplines and production personnel for the release of new test programs and procedures.
- Participate in integration, verification and validation activities of developed test equipment.
- Participate in equipment maintenance and repair of equipment and systems in factory and field installations.
- Prepare engineering changes, status reports, as required.
- Use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks. Typical tools / languages may include LabView, LabWindows, C++, DOORS, Visual Basic, Microsoft SQL or Microsoft Access.
- Provide peer review services for Test Engineering personnel.
- Provide inputs to metrics for reporting to Project Engineering Management as well as Corporate Engineering Management.
- Provide direction to Designers, Drafters and Technicians.
- Design electronic test equipment, components and systems (Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), Manual Test Fixtures, etc.) for both in-house use and customer applications.
- Analyze and interpret test data.
- Provide inputs for technical solutions and estimates for requests for proposal.
- Coordinate operation, equipment maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in factory and field installations.
- Provide metrics for reporting to Senior Test Engineering personnel.
- Provide inputs for project planning and monitoring using MS Project, MS Excel, etc.
- Provide direction to lower level Engineers.
- Implement top level architecture of test equipment, components and systems.
- Provide direct customer interface including technical presentations, Engineering Coordination Memos, telecoms, formal reviews, etc.
- Design and develop Statistical Process Control (SPC), Cpk error analysis tools and features.
- Ensure that specialized engineering support, such as reliability, maintainability, thermal design, structural analysis and electromagnetic compatibility, are included in designs, where appropriate.
- Provide mentoring and peer review services for Test Engineering personnel.
- Perform project planning and monitoring using MS Project, MS Excel, etc.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work.
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a four-year college.
- At least 10 years related experience.
- Occasional travel requiring overnight stay may be required; airline travel must be acceptable.
- Must have a background that would permit the U.S. Department of Defense to issue a Secret clearance when necessary for work on a project that requires such a clearance.

Compensation ranges for roles at TTM Technologies vary depending on a wide array of factors including skill sets, experience, training, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
A reasonable estimate of the current range is : $90,761 - $151,269.
Additional compensation : An annual or quarterly company bonus may apply based on position assignment.
