Department Summary
The Office of Strategic Communications and Marketing (SSEM) within the Division of Student Services & Enrollment Management has responsibility for all communications with prospective students, current students, parents, and families of current and prospective students, as well as alumni, donors, and potential donors, and other target audiences for the purposes of student recruitment and retention.
The Strategic Communications Coordinator uses innovative strategies to contribute to the attainment of the Division of Student Services and Enrollment Management's and the Division of Student Life's short- and long-term goals, including enrollment, retention, community building, and development efforts for a variety of audiences.
This position is responsible for internal-facing communications for current students, faculty, and staff.

Position Summary
We are seeking two Strategic Communications Coordinators one focused on Internal Communications and one on External Communications.
The Strategic Communications Coordinator supports the division's copywriting and copy-editing projects. The position is responsible for content creation that communicates our core values and mission as demonstrated through departments, programs, and services to students, faculty, staff, parents, and the community and is expected to promote a consistent, recognizable, and positive university and division image, and maintain and support the university and division-wide policies and procedures related to strategic communications, marketing, and media strategies.
This position will ensure that the efforts are promoted and coordinated with departments, University Communications, and other university-wide communicators.
In addition, the Strategic Communications Coordinator has collaborative relationships with campus and community partners while working in conjunction with employees across the Division of Student Services and Enrollment Management.
This position is responsible for working with SSEM department staff and students to create content for print, web, and video projects.
This position supports the creation and maintenance of department websites, university-wide publications, digital news, and internal email communications.
Minimum Requirements
Three years' experience in gathering information, writing / producing materials, presenting information to the public, and public relations.
One year of this experience must have included responsibility for press releases and interaction with the news media.
A Bachelor's degree in journalism, communication or closely related field may substitute for up to two years of the general experience.
