Verdex Construction is looking for a MEP / Interior Superintendent to add to our West Florida Operations team to assist us in our mission of "Building Something Better."
The MEP / Interior Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing all day-to-day MEP / Interior job site activities, including project team performance, site conditions, safety and quality standards, compliance with scope, and effective management of trade partners.
Essential Functions :
- Oversee, manage, and document all day-to-day MEP / Interior job site activities including OSHA safety compliance.
- Communicate issues, events, performance, and progress daily to the Project Manager
- Report any problems promptly to the Project Manager to facilitate the most cost-effective solutions.
- Establish effective working relationships with clients and Verdex team members.
- Controlling, coordinating, and supervising all MEP / Interior work and MEP / Interior field personnel on site.
- Conducting regular meetings with MEP & Interior subcontractors foremen to coordinate site operations.
- Producing a daily report and taking photos that records field conditions, number of field forces, subcontractors, visitors, deliveries, delays, equipment, inspections, and schedule progress for MEP & Interior work.
- Directing all MEP & Interior personnel and subcontractors to achieve completion of the project on schedule and within budget while ensuring the quality of the project and safety of the workers.
- Coordinating material orders as required.
- Coordinating, participating in and recording MEP & Interior inspections.
- Understanding the project’s plans, specifications, approved submittals, & RFIs.
- Understanding the contract scope of each MEP & Interior subcontractor.
- Identifying and developing RFI’s with subcontractors.
- Ensuring all MEP & Interior work is constructed in accordance with the approved design, specifications, and submittals.
- Verifying as-built drawings are being maintained by the MEP & Interior subcontractors.
- Reviewing installed work for adherence to design and industry standards.
- Maintaining a working / complete list and producing MEP & Interior punch lists and tracking individual items to completion.
- Recording daily schedule progress for weekly update.

Qualifications :
- 10 years MEP & Interior construction management, trade experience
- Prior experience in successfully building projects similar in size and complexity ($50M+).
- Strong communication skills, both internally and externally.
- Professional appearance.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal structure while exercising great judgement.
- Must have Commercial construction experience which includes, but not limited to Multi-Family, Warehouse / Industrial, Hospitality (Hotel), Public (Municipal), School, Sr. Living.
- Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and work well under pressure to meet established deadlines.
- Must be a team player with enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work well done; self-starter dedicated to continual quality improvement.
Education :
- Degree in Engineering or Building Construction preferred, experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- OSHA 30 Safety Certification
