Professional working as a member of a research unit or project team. Experienced Scientist with sound scientific and analytical technical expertise.
Contributes to the development and implementation of procedures in the field of analytical research and development. Perform GLP studies as study director with strong project management and solid record of meeting project timelines.
Conduct analytical testing and research to support R&D, application development, manufacturing, regulatory assurance, technical services, and various CMC / IMC business units.
This position is in Alpharetta, GA and requires you to be on site.
Responsibilities
- Manages and handles analytical projects to meet the tight timelines.
- Develops and validates analytical methods as needed to support various projects.
- Performs analytical testing for non-GLP and GLP studies (GLP training will be provided if needed) by using various techniques including HPLC (UV / ELSD / CAD / MS), GC (FID / MS), wet chemistry methods and other techniques.
- Plans experimental lab work (scheduling, design, safety measures, coordination with associated services) independently.
- Performs analytical work to identify and elucidate structures of impurities as needed.
- Prepares protocols and reports and makes technical presentations as appropriate to broader R&D community and internal clients.
- Contributes to scientific field or technique by solving scientific problems within R&D.
- Represents the team in group and project team meetings.
- Performs evaluation and Implementation of trends and innovations around analytical research and development.
Qualifications
- MS Degree or above, PhD preferred; Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, General Chemistry
- 3- 7 (Ph.D) and 5-10 (MS) years of experience in analytical research.
- Hands-on experience with analytical measurements and instrumental analysis in chemical industry such as HPLC(UV, MS), GC(FID, MS) is needed.
- Experience in conducting complex scientific projects involving analytical data generation using multiple analytical techniques is desirable.
- Hands-on experience and strong theoretical understanding is preferred with structural elucidation (or confirmation) of unknown small molecules.
- Experienced in analytical method development with various detection techniques such as LC-MS / UV for trace level analytes in a variety of matrices.

- Familiar with GLP guidelines under EPA is a plus, not required.
