BASIC FUNCTION :
The IT Business Operations Specialist II will aid the department's daily activities, encompassing project coordination, equipment and licensing management, IT communication, scheduling, and facilitating events and special programming.
This position reports to the Deputy Chief Information Officer / Assistant Vice President for Information Technology Services.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Assist IT teams with support for day-to-day operations, including coordination of projects, special events, and programming.
- Establish project start-up files, coordinate meetings, follow-up actions, and generate status reports. Archive completed projects.
- Liaise with clients, IT colleagues, Facilities, and external providers to arrange scheduling,
procurement timelines, space reservations, and special requirements for projects and events.
- Coordinate schedules for contractors, consultants, and external service providers for projects, events, and programs.
- Contribute to the management of the IT client capital request and budget processes, including forecasting, monitoring, reporting, procurement of equipment and services, and deployment cycles and scheduling.
- Contribute to IT licensing and vendor contracts management to ensure compliance with
legal and financial requirements.
Provide operational support to IT teams, including equipment delivery and workspace
management, IT communications and events, and compliance issues.
- Contribute to developing and implementing IT policies, procedures, and standards related to business operations.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to plan and implement IT projects and initiatives.
- Ensure that the IT business operations team provides excellent customer service to end-users and other IT teams.
- Maintain awareness of emerging trends and best practices in IT business operations.
- Maintain business partner relationships with a portfolio of assigned organizational units to understand their needs within this responsibility domain and meet their requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION : Bachelor’s degree in Arts or Sciences with a preference for a significant background in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related fields, OR equivalent experience.
EXPERIENCE : Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT business operations, preferably in higher education.
LICENSES : Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to the College's automobile insurance carrier.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES :
Knowledge of IT budgeting, licensing, and vendor management.
Experience with compliance issues related to privacy, data protection, and financial regulations.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
REQUIRED HOURS : The regular hours for this full-time position are 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m., Monday - Friday. Regular hours may vary due to the needs of the College or division.
Some evening and / or weekend work may be required to support campus programs and activities. Occasional requirements to work outside of standard business hours may be required to ensure timely responsiveness to our college community.
C LASSIFICATION AND STATUS :
This is a full-time, 12-month, year-round, non-exempt level, benefits-eligible position.
PAY RANGE :
$27.00 - $28.00 PER HOUR
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Normal physical job functions performed within a standard office environment and include reaching, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
May occasionally lift / push / pull items up to 20 lbs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY : NO

BACKGROUND CHECK : The successful candidate will be required to undergo a full consumer background check. Certain positions will require the successful completion of a post-offer physical agility test.
