Job Summary
This position performs a variety of administrative office duties.
Required Qualifications
Education and Experience :
Must maintain enrollment in at least 6 credits at LBCC, maintain satisfactory academic progress throughout each term, and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.
0 or better (some positions may require a higher GPA), and have financial aid in place to be eligible to work in a Work Study student employee capacity at Linn-Benton Community College.
Knowledge and Skills :
- Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Drive, and email.
- Ability to communicate professionally with a variety of people.
- Self-motivated, able to work cooperatively and independently with attention to detail, and accuracy.
Abilities :
- Must be able to communicate with faculty, staff, and students, work well independently and with others.
- Ability to interact sensitively and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- May occasionally lift light to medium weight items, with or without assistance.
- Work is performed indoors with no exposure to safety and health hazards.
- Considerable time may be spent working at a computer.
- Environment may be loud and hectic at times.
General Duties
- Telephone-direct calls and taking messages.
- Information resources & referral for staff, students & community members.
- Some computer word processing, typing, and filing.
- Available hours fall between 9am-4pm Mon-Fri.
- May be asked to work remotely if college is limiting in-person contact, doing student outreach, assisting with social media, and data entry.
- Tools of the job may include multi-line phone, computer, copy machine, poster maker.
