You will join our Architecture / Engineering Process Practice and partner with seasoned leaders, technical specialists, and subject matter experts to deliver the highest quality solutions to our clients with consistency and accuracy.
What You’ll Do
We are seeking a highly qualified, licensed, Senior Mechanical Engineer who loves the challenge of complex manufacturing facility design projects.
You will develop both conceptual and detailed designs for mechanical systems. This includes HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), plumbing, piping, and specialized systems like compressed air, steam, and industrial gas distribution.
In order to be considered to join our AEC Practice as a Senior Mechanical Engineer, PE you must have demonstrated experience with delivery of facilities design packages for complex multi-discipline, architecture & engineering design projects.
Preferably for Food, Beverage, Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), or Life Science sector manufacturing clients.
- Mechanical System Design : Lead the design and engineering of mechanical systems within manufacturing facilities, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
- Equipment Sizing : Determine appropriate equipment sizes for efficient and effective operation of mechanical systems.
- HVAC Systems : Design systems involving air handling units, chemical and laminar fume hoods, unit heaters / coolers, and other HVAC components to maintain optimal environmental conditions.
- Fluid Systems : Engineer systems for water, chilled water, wastewater, cooling towers / condensers, boiler / steam or hot water, hydronic systems, compressed gases (air, O2, N2, CO2), waste / drain, and other plumbing systems.
- Regulatory Compliance : Ensure that all mechanical designs meet local, state, and federal regulations and codes.
- Software Proficiency : Utilize industry-standard software including REVIT, AutoCAD MEP, and Navisworks for modeling, simulation, and design.
- Client Collaboration : Work closely with clients to understand their requirements, provide technical insights, and develop solutions that align with their goals.
- Quality Assurance : Follow and maintain quality control processes to ensure that mechanical designs meet the highest standards and client expectations.
- Team Collaboration : Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, architects, and contractors to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly into larger projects.
- Project Management : Oversee mechanical engineering aspects of projects, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
What You’ll Bring
- A Professional Engineering (PE) license is mandatory.
- A minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on designing mechanical systems for manufacturing facilities.
Ability to complete mechanical system analysis, sizing, design, and report writing.
- Proven expertise in equipment sizing, HVAC systems, and various mechanical systems specific to manufacturing plants.
- In-depth knowledge of water, chilled water, wastewater, cooling towers / condensers, boiler / steam or hot water systems, hydronic systems, compressed gases (air, O2, N2, CO2), waste / drain, and other plumbing systems.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software, including REVIT, AutoCAD MEP, and Navisworks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with clients and team members.
- Willingness to travel for project requirements, including installation and start-up activities, client meetings, company-sponsored meetings, training, industry-related seminars, forums, and conventions.
- Able to perform as a Mechanical Engineer and execute mechanical design on multi-discipline projects.

- BS degree Mechanical Engineering from an ABET school required.
