Role Responsibilities
Quinlan tenure-track faculty engage in impactful teaching, high-quality research, service to the profession, and the school, and share a strong commitment to and understanding of the University’s mission.
We seek candidates at the assistant professor level who will become established leaders in the HRER field defined broadly.
Candidates should demonstrate a strong research agenda and pipeline. Research streams (e.g., careers, employee relations, recruitment & selection, performance management, etc.
which advance the University’s mission will be favorably received by the committee.
We seek a scholar who can support the current undergraduate and master’s levels curriculum in HRER and within the Management Department.
The initial teaching load is four undergraduate or graduate courses a year. Specific course assignments may include, but are not limited to, courses in our undergraduate HRER major, and can include other courses within the applicants’ area of specialization that are not specific to HRER, such as managing people and organizations, organizational development and change, etc.
In addition to teaching, research, and service responsibilities, the successful candidate will also build relationships with the business community in the Chicago area to support internship and mentoring projects through Loyola’s programs.
Department Overview
The Department of Management consists of 26 full-time faculty members with specializations in socially responsible business practices, entrepreneurship, strategy, organizational behavior, human resources, sport management, and international business.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates must have a minimum of an earned Ph.D. (or equivalent) or be nearing completion of a PhD by August 2025 in Human Resources / Employment Relations or a closely related field.
Candidates are expected to have earned their degree prior to the effective date of appointment. Prior professional experience in the HRER field, the ability to teach other management-related courses, and course development experience is preferred.
