JobDescription
What you will be doing :
- Calculateand maintain standard costs for overhead cost components (freightand duties). Also verify that factory costs and subcomponent costsare accurate.
- Perform monthly reconciliation of inventorysubledger to general ledger and research / adjust forvariances.
- Prepareall journal entries and account reconciliations for all balancesheet and P&L accounts impacted by the inventory / COGS cycleincluding inventory capitalized cost variances accounts payableaccrued expenses direct COGS indirect COGS variances and royaltyexpense.
- Manage allreserves for excess discontinued and obsoleteinventory.
- Validateand record results of periodic inventory cycle counts and / or annualphysical inventory count.
- Work closely with the product development andsupply chain teams to ensure that all new inventory items aresubjected to cost / price / margin analysis.
- Develop and maintain pricing analysis model(derived from cost analysis).
- Oversee the preparation of all quarterlyroyalty reports and remittances. Work closely with businessdevelopment team to ensure that all new license agreements areaccounted for properly.
Maintain accounting for royalty accrualsand prepaid minimum guarantees.
- Calculate and file all duty drawbackclaims.
- Assistoutside legal counsel in all duty protestclaims.
- Analyzemargins at month end paying particular attention to variances dueto cost changes product mix shifts and customermix.
- Assist inpreparation of annual budget and semiannualreforecast.
- Developbetter reporting tools in ERP and Business Intelligence systems toanalyze gross margins by product customer region salesrepresentative etc.
- Familiarity with Great Plains ERP system is aplus.

Experience you will need :
- Bachelor’s degree required(Preferred major in Accounting Finance or related businessdegree)
- 510 yearsaccounting experience. Consumer product or retail industryexperience is preferred
- with Great Plains ERP system is aplus.
