Now Hiring : Food Service Director
Responsibilities of Food Service Director :
- Inspects the Dietary Department daily to ensure that it is safe and sanitary.
- Submits written reports to administration as necessary.
- Plans nutritionally balanced & therapeutic meals that reflect the likes and dislikes of residents, as well as Public Health regulations.
- Responsible for food purchase, production, and timely service of meals.
- Directs and supervises all dietary functions and personnel.
- Hires, orients, trains, counsels, disciplines, and, when appropriate, terminates dietary employees.
Qualifications of Food Service Manager :
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Nursing home kitchen management
- Ability to work independently or as part of a group.
- Computer knowledge
- Previous long-term care experience
- Train and manage dishwashers, cooks, servers, and other managers to significantly improve productivity.
- Manage both front-of-the-house (FOH) and back-of-the-house (BOH) operations.
- Achieve the highest level of compliance with CMS audits.
- Manage departmental budget
- Managed food services at a 112-bed nursing facility
- Work as a team to create and update process flows, work procedures, and records to meet SQF and FSMA standards.
- Experience with healthcare therapeutic and modified texture diets.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory organizations and nursing home policies.
- Create a food safety program to meet food safety control for human food per FSMA requirements.
- Develop new policies & procedures per guidelines of CMS, TJC, and IDPH regulations.
- Ensure the hot food is delivered correctly, verifying the diet changes and allergies.
