Nature of Work :
Oversees all functions of the Records, Dispatch, and Property Units and security of criminal history records. Supervises the daily activities of the property, records, and dispatch personnel.
Minimum Qualifications :
Minimum of two years experience in either property room management, records management, or police dispatch. Law enforcement background is strongly preferred.
An Associate’s Degree from an accredited university or equivalent credit hours (60) with the majority of coursework in a related field is preferred.
No felony convictions. Felony and misdemeanor arrests will be subject to review if involving drug / alcohol violations, assault / battery violations, or any crime involving moral turpitude violations.
Primary Duties / Functions :
- Directly supervises and coordinates training and activities of Records and Communications personnel, including employee performance documentation and counseling, evaluations, time sheets, and work schedules.
- Performs Records and Dispatch duties as circumstances dictate.
- Primary Terminal Agency Coordinator (TAC) for Department.
- Supervises all validation procedures to maintain NCIC and Alert II System requirements- (TAC).
- Prepares work schedules for all personnel assigned to areas of responsibility.
- Completes employee evaluations for all employees under direct supervision and assists in the evaluation of others as required.
- Provides effective performance evaluations for subordinate members of the division and forward them to the Staff Services Commander in a timely manner.
- Instructs Property, Records, and Communications personnel on the correct procedures to be followed.
- Responsible for validation procedures to maintain NCIC and ALERT II system requirements.
