The Utica Comets, Utica City FC, and Adirondack Bank Center are welcoming applications to fill a Ticket Sales and Service Internship position for the 2024-25 season.
Internship Term : October 2024 April 2025, with an option to extend through June 2025 for playoffs

Expected Time Commitment : Approx. 20 hours / week
This internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the professional sports industry and develop transferable skills that are beneficial to anyone seeking a profession in sales.
Supervised by the Manager of Ticket Sales, this intern will learn the day-to-day responsibilities of the ticketing department, including ticket sales & service, ticket operations, fan engagement, and game operations.
In addition, this role will have opportunities to support additional events at the Adirondack Bank Center and Utica University Nexus Center, including but not limited to the Utica University Men’s & Women’s Ice Hockey programs.
This is an unpaid internship. Participants may qualify for academic credit if allowed by their college or university.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform outbound sales calls to generate leads for individual, season, and group ticket opportunities. Correspond with Comets and UCFC season ticket members to answer questions and inform of account updates.
- Assist with upkeep of the Adirondack Bank Center box office. Prepare Will Call for gamedays, sell & print tickets via Paciolan, and respond to customer questions and concerns.
- Work with account executives in the preparation and execution of gameday experiences and group outings. Manage fan zone area on gamedays and provide outstanding customer service to all attendees.
- Promote a positive gameday environment to fans, VIPs, and various stakeholders as a representative of the Adirondack Bank Center, Utica Comets, and Utica City FC.
- Aid other departments with gameday initiatives, as needed.
- Additional duties and special projects as assigned.

From this Internship, participants will be able to take away the following skills and lessons and apply it in future roles :
- Understand the sales cycle, how to interact with customers, and utilize relevant software (e.g. Paciolan, Salesforce) to sell tickets for events.
- Act as a front-facing member of a professional sports organization, engaging positively and professionally to a wide-range of stakeholders.
- Collaborate with a diverse group of individuals in a professional sports environment to navigate ever-changing conditions and successfully accomplish tasks.
- Build connections and professional relationships with other members of the sports industry.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
- Possess strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- Can maintain a high level of professionalism within a professional sports environment.
- Ability to adapt to changing game situations and can complete projects under tight deadlines.
- Ability to stand and / or sit for extended periods of time; can lift up to 30 lb.
- Must have a flexible schedule to allow commitment to a majority of Utica Comets and Utica City FC home games during the 2024-25 season, including select weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Must reside within one (1) hour of the Adirondack Bank Center.
- Must have reliable transportation to travel to and from the Adirondack Bank Center. Reimbursement for travel, gas, lodging, etc.
