Summary
This position will schedule outpatient clinic visits, surgeries, and the coordination of tests / procedures for Surgical Services.
Schedules patient visits through the completion of electronic request order. Properly ensures patient safety by coordinating patient tests according to best practice.
Assists clinical staff in the proper selection of tests / procedures to achieve desired results. Clinical experience preferred (.
LPN, physician's office personnel). This position has no direct physical contact with patients. Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
This position works under the supervision of the Team Leader or Manager and is employed by Mosaic Health System.
Duties
Receive calls from providers, patients, clinics or other hospitals to schedule procedure tests and take bed reservations.
Process calls with exceptional customer service skills (oral, written, and visual communications).
Schedule and arrange procedures and tests for all patients types; arranging various resources such as providers, rooms, equipment, etc.
and provides prep, pre-procedure and post-procedure instructions averaging less than 2.5 minute talk time.
- Coordinates for proper clinical sequencing of multiple tests, the facility and the service areas.
- Creates reservations for scheduled inpatient, ambulatory surgery and other medical procedures assuring PAT compliance by scheduling pre-admission testing.
- Create a new account number with required information such as diagnosis, indications, minimal history, admitting / ordering / and primary care physician, prompt for and record referral numbers and pre-certification numbers for various health insurance coverage.
Question and document patient’s condition according to various clinical screening questions (. MRI).
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent. Completion of Medical Terminology required within 60 days of hire. Completion of FDCPA within 18 months of hire.
- LPN preferred (if applicable).
- One year experience in Admissions or ancillary service department. Typing skills minimum of 35 wpm. Clinical experience preferred.
