The Heart Institute at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital is actively seeking a motivated and dynamic Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with a Registered Nurse First Assist certification to join our growing team of providers.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing support to surgeons during procedures and delivering perioperative care as necessary.

Serving as a vital link between pediatric cardiac surgery, pediatric cardiology, and the CVICU teams will be a key aspect of this role as the position will involve facilitating collaboration across departments such as nursing, pharmacy, and imaging to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Responsibilities will encompass both inpatient and outpatient services, with additional focus on actively contributing to clinical research initiatives.

Candidates must have a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (or Master’s equivalent) from an ARC-PA accredited program and possess a Physician Assistant Certification, or a national Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and RNFA Certification.

A BLS and PALS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross and a Florida license must be obtained by date of hire.

Schedule requirements are four days per week with on-call coverage, and the expectation that the provider will be available within 30 minutes for emergent procedures.

The hospital recently underwent a 4-story vertical expansion to double the number of floors and continue to meet its commitment to providing the highest quality and safest care for children in the region.
