Job Title : Inserter Operator
Reports To : Production Supervisor
Job Status : Full Time 1st Shift 6 am - 2 pm, 2nd shift 2 pm - 10 pm
Job Overview :
The Inserter Operator is responsible for operating inserter machines, performing basic and detailed machining tasks, and ensuring the accurate and timely processing of customer mailings.
This role involves repetitive tasks, maintaining correct paperwork, and ensuring quality standards are met. The Inserter Operator will also support the production team by performing additional duties as required.
Responsibilities and Duties :
- Machine Operation and Maintenance : Understand job details and perform set-up, operation, and maintenance of inserter machines.
- Troubleshooting : Identify and resolve machine issues to ensure continuous operation.
- Quality Monitoring : Monitor mail inserting machines to ensure all mail pieces meet established quality standards.
- Documentation : Complete work orders accurately for proper billing and ensure correct postage reconciliation.
- Work Area Maintenance : Maintain a clean work area and assist with housekeeping duties as assigned.
- Physical Requirements : Stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Efficiency : Maintain peak efficiency while operating equipment and monitor the inserting machine for accurate document processing.
- Postage Management : Monitor and maintain adequate postage on meters, notifying the supervisor or manager as needed.
- Material Handling : Ensure the correct production materials are used and properly stored after job completion.
- Production Schedules : Understand and adhere to production schedules and priorities.
- Additional Duties : Participate in hand inserting and other production activities as needed, and contribute to record-keeping and tracking.
- Process Improvement : Recommend process improvements that support customer and company interests.
- Performance Input : Provide input for performance evaluations, objectives, and development.
- Other Duties : Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager or Shift Supervisor.
Qualifications / Skills :
- Basic math skills and computer knowledge.
- Ability to work efficiently in a production setting with strong organizational skills.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in sorting and tray mailing.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Team player with a high level of reliability.
