Job Description

Weatherford is hiring a Repair & Maintenance Technician for our Regal Row(Houston) facility. This is a hands on, rewarding role where you will be performing repair & maintenance of products and tools for the oil and gas industry in wireline.

The R&M Technician will be working within a supportive, inclusive team in a fast-paced, progressive environment. Weatherford provide full training on our machines, excellent benefits and fantastic career progression.

The R&M Technician role undertakes hands-on tasks and utilizes Weatherford's facilities, equipment, machinery, and systems.

The role applies techniques and practices to complete the scope of tasks covering inspection, repair, and maintenance of field tools, preparing them for their next assignment.

Tasks will span the entire process from receiving the tools, dismantling, repairing, and refurbishing using technical manuals, procedures, and technical work instructions.

While this is a generic job description covering the different levels of the R&M Technician position, all aspects of the roles and responsibilities are relevant.

More senior roles lead and oversee tasks carried out by other R&M employees.

QUALITY

  • Responsible for being familiar with the Company's Quality policies and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Weatherford’s Management System
  • Maintains service quality as immediate priorities when working across all areas of the business and continually seeks areas for improvement

OPERATIONS

  • Participates in all daily operations & safety meetings, toolbox, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and reports any issues promptly using the appropriate tools
  • Maintains equipment, facilities, and work area in a presentable and safe working condition
  • Repairs machines, equipment, or structures, using tools such as hammers, hoists, cranes, drills, wrenches, or equipment such as precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices
  • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, callipers, micrometres, or other measuring instruments.
  • Follows maintenance processes & procedures to undertake the following : unloading, disassembly, cleaning, pressure testing, visual checking, painting, assembly, loading, and storage of tools, completing all necessary documentation as required against their level of training & competence
  • Initiates, updates, closes out AIRTs, PFTs, forms, checklists, and work orders during maintenance of equipment and assets, following the necessary maintenance processes and procedures against their level of training & competence
  • Complies with the WO labor time log by accurately clocking in / Out of the WO (Work Order) Time tracking system
  • Utilizes all tools and lifting equipment for opening and closing crates & containers and uses pallet and forklift trucks for the safe movement of equipment to and from vehicles, storage areas, racks, shelves, and bins against their level of training & competence.

Must be certified for the use of lifting equipment, including forklift trucks and cranes

  • Accepts incoming shipments and prepares shipments for dispatch, validating quantities and ensuring all necessary documentation is accurate and complies with all Company procedures against their level of training & competence
  • Supports and complies with the LEAN initiatives and participates in the continuous efficiency improvement program of the facility.
  • Performs other duties and activities safely as assigned by supervisor within physical constraints of the job

COMMUNICATION

  • Where required, will report all equipment failures and troubleshooting requirements to the R&M Management
  • Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external

FINANCIAL

  • All employees have an accountability to the organisation to be financially responsible whether they are in charge of a function budget or simply their own expenses
  • Costs incurred should be within approved budget, processed within agreed time frames & following the relevant financial policy and procedure

Qualifications

  • 2+ years related experience preferred with High School Diploma (or Secondary School Diploma, or equivalent) preferred
  • Experience in oilfield operations- workshop
  • Knowledge of windows based systems
  • Mechanically Inclined required
  • Must be able to take occasional weekend / night call

  • Experience with wireline tools and products
