Salary Information

Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.

A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and MCCP Board Rules & Regulations

Nature of Work

The fundamental reason that this classification exists is to develop and manage a retail development program in an effort to attract,retain and grow retail businesses to / in the City.

The Commercial District Coordinator will perform professional marketing and retail development. The work responsibilities for this classification include advancing retail studies, developing recruiting / retentionprograms, activities and materials and retaining retailers and developers;

and establishing and maintaining closerelationships with representatives of the City’s business community, consultants, real estate brokers and developers, and other key stakeholders.

This classification reports to the Senior Development Manager in the Department of Economic and Community Development

Minimum Qualifications

Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Public Administration; Marketing or Communications; Planning, Real Estate or similarfield and three (3) years of experience in the development of commercialbusinesses related to business attraction / recruitment, retention, expansion,and / or economic development.

Experience in retail development is preferred.

NOTE : Qualifying education, training and experience that provide therequisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job will beconsidered.

Kind of Examination
