Position Summary
The Site Operations Supervisor is responsible for developing and operating a successful recycling program of organics products and residuals.
This position will work with agricultural partners, regulatory entities and third parties to manage a productive lexicon of outlets.
Hiring Range : $58,000.00-$62,000.00 / year
Key Responsibilities
- Seek and develop relationships with agricultural outlets for land application of organic residuals.
- Completes compliance reporting, data management, financial analysis, and manages sub-contractors.
- Assists in developing prospective customers and assists customers within a defined geographic area.
- Assists in sampling, field mapping, determining agronomic application rates, delivering and servicing spreading equipment, and coordinating transportation logistics.
- Maintains detailed records of maintenance of company equipment, including daily inspection logs as needed.
- Interacts with customers to understand their needs, answer questions and follow up as needed; maintains strong relationships with all customers, vendors, drivers and operations staff.
- Assists with the completion of compliance calendar tasks in NY division including sampling, development of a chain of custody, shipping samples, reviewing analytical data and entering analytical data in the Casella database.
- Assists with accounting and billing procedures, including month-end close processes.
- Develops an in-depth understanding of state and federal rules and regulations; identifies and meets site requirements of state and local approvals for conducting beneficial use activities.
- Demonstrates effective leadership skills by following all applicable federal, state and company policies, communicating clear goals, coaching team members on achieving goals, providing development opportunities to ensure employees attain the necessary skills to obtain results, organizing team initiatives.
- Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales and services and performs any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and / or abide by our core values.
Education, Experience & Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, 1-3 years of customer service or progressive experience in farming / landscape or a related industry, a history of succeeding in collaborative environments, and be legally eligible to work in the US.
A valid driver’s license, an ability to travel 50-70% of the time inside the defined territory, flexibility / willingness to relocate within the Northeast region as the company grows and regular overnight travel to assist NY and ME divisions are necessary.
Technical training and previous coursework in solid waste in solid waste or related field and experience or interest in an environmental and or sustainability field are preferred.
Excellent verbal, written and analytical presentation skills, strong problem solving skills, great written and verbal and written communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications are required.
An ability to identify and assist employees with opportunities for growth and development is expected.
