TheOpportunity
As a One MedicalPhlebotomist / Office Assistant (known internally as Medical MemberSupport Specialist / Lab Service Specialist), you’ll provide anexceptional experience for our patients and help them accomplish animportant part of their care journey by providing venipuncture,dispensary responsibilities, as well as other clinical supportservices.
You will be an ambassador for patients in office, with amastery of human connection and a strong drive for service. Youwill remove barriers to care, resulting in a truly exceptionalin-office patient experience.
This includes support for the officewith a focus on active daily management, scheduling, inventory ,and facilities support.
You are the steward of the space and ensurethe look and feel of the office lobby are on brand with the OneMedical experience.
You will be the first point of contact forpatient feedback, as well as provide any other support as requestedby the Leads, Office Manager, or in office providers.
You are a strong team player and use your innovativeproblem solving skills to tackle various tasks and challenges. Youcombine excellent specimen collection technique with tactfulinterpersonal skills during every interaction with your patients.
You have a strong grasp of verbal and written communication. Youare able to identify opportunities and deliver on customer-centricsolutions while using empathy, focus, and compassion in allinteractions with patients and teammates.

What you’ll workon :
- Provide best inclass venipuncture services on a population ranging from pediatricsto geriatrics
- Perform and assist with extendedscope duties such as, but not limited to non-blood specimencollection, EKGs / ECGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPDtests, and swabs
- Maintain high standards ofin-office care through proper specimen labeling, handling andprocessing, inventory upkeep, and toolsterilization
- Dispensaryresponsibilities include verifying counts, maintaining inventory,placing orders, receiving and stocking, filling, packaging andlabeling prescriptions for patient pick-up.
- Continue to care for our members beyond the lab room byanswering patient messages, following up on lab cases and assistingour providers and virtual medical team with clerical duties suchas, but not limited to biometric screening forms, medical recordand consult review, billing inquiries, and DOH reporting
- Use impeccable C-I-CARE (a framework containing the keyelements of a great interaction and effective communication that weuse with patients and each other) in all patient interactions andensure a fluid and positive in-office experience through patientintake, same day schedule management, appropriate follow upscheduling, strong knowledge of billing and insurance, monitoringpatient feedback and assisting with outreach asnecessary
- All front of house duties includingcheck in / check out, insurance verification, printing / paperworktasks, prepping tests, tasking to service level expectationsetc
- Assist our senior patients by performingother administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, sendingfaxes, and coordinating transportation for patients
- Contribute to team development through rounding,attending team huddles, participating in team problem solving,supporting in office providers with ad hoc asks,etc.
- Perform opening and closingduties / daily office upkeep as required, including maintaining thelook and feel of both patient and employee facing spaces,restocking supplies, and organization
- Masterour technology suite including, but not limited to Slack, G-suite,Zoom, Circulation, RingCentral, and our Electronic Medical RecordSystem, in order to interact with team members and complete dailywork

What you’ll need :
- Atleast 6 months of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant orPhlebotomist outside of a training / externshipenvironment
- A High SchoolDiploma or equivalent
- Proficiency incomputer technology such as typing, navigating the internet andusing multiple software systems simultaneously
- Experience working on collaborative, diverse,multi-disciplinary teams (additional experience with remote teams aplus)
- A proven ability to displayconfidence and instill trust during the collection process whiledelivering individualized, human-centered, customer-focusedcare
- A proven track record of persistingthrough change, consistently stepping up to take action onchallenges, and learning quickly and effectively when faced withnew situations or tasks
- Phlebotomy experienceand / or certification preferred
- Experience withextended scope care including but not limited to non-blood specimencollection and processing, EKGs / ECGs, vitals, ear lavages,vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs preferred

This is a full time role (40 hrs / week)with 8 hour shifts generally taking place Monday-Friday between7 : 30am-6 : 30pm based at one of our Kendall Square office inCambridge, Massachusetts.
