A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DIRECTOR OF NURSING

In this pivotal role, you will begin your day by leading a strategic team meeting to review and address the medical and dental needs of our residents with your nurses.

As the Medication Administration Program (MAP) Consultant, you will ensure adherence to MAP regulations and provide expert guidance on medication management.

Your responsibilities include reviewing and interpreting medical reports, coordinating with healthcare professionals, and communicating updates to staff and families.

Your role is crucial in maintaining the quality and consistency of care, contributing to a supportive and effective healthcare environment.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A DIRECTOR OF NURSING

• Registered nurse currently licensed in the State of Massachusetts (in good standing)
• Proficient in performing nursing assessments and triaging emergencies
• Experienced in reviewing and analyzing incident reports and medical evaluations
• Skilled in interpreting lab, X-ray, and other medical reports
• Capable of supervising and serving as a role model
• Knowledgeable in safety policies and documentation requirements
• Experienced in supervising medical treatments and personal care
• Understanding of client confidentiality and relevant regulations
• Proficient in computer skills and documentation
• Ability to plan, organize, and motivate staff
• Knowledgeable in child abuse reporting procedures and cultural sensitivity
• Understanding of laws, contractual obligations, and licensing regulations
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in spoken and written English
• Ability to read and comprehend work-related documents almost exclusively written in English
