Job Summary :

The CAD Designer in the Fire Sprinkler department will create sprinkler design drawings and track submittals and approvals.

The position works in a team environment to provide technical support to the technicians and project managers throughout the delivery cycle.

The role requires a strong understanding of the customer’s needs and expectations and is able to provide day-to-day direction and make appropriate changes in customer requirements as needed.

The position performs a vital part in enhancing the Company’s footprint and has the capability to contribute to the strength and sustainable growth of Fire Safety First.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Reviews construction contract documents and coordinates with Subcontractors and General Contractor / Owner to gather the required information to design the projects sprinkler systems.

Determines construction feasibility of plans and systems through effective analytical thinking and problem solvingCreates detailed drawings through extensive use of AutoCADCreates stock list for all materials required throughout the projectPerforms hydraulic calculationCoordinates pipe and sprinkler locations with building componentsPerforms field surveysAttends project specific meetingsMaintains designs and historical records for all functions for future useMonitors and manages all assigned projects to comply with safety, quality, productivity and profitability requirementsAssists and or directs the lead foreman during the field check stage of the projectEnsures work complies with codes and permitsInteracts productively with colleagues to address and handle challenging situations in a professional mannerPossesses excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers and general publicHelps to identify continuous improvement in processes and offers solutions to promote efficiencyAdheres to all company employment policies and safe practices

Experience / Training / Education :

Minimum of 3-5 years in fire sprinkler CAD design practical experienceNICET certification, preferredDemonstrated ability in drafting / CAD and computer skillsKnowledge of multiple electronic building systems is a plus.Project planning

Job Type :

Full-time, on-site, Monday - Friday40 hours a week
