SUMMARY
As a SMT Machine Operator at Comtech, you will play a crucial role in the production process by operating and maintaining state-of-the-art Surface Mount Technology (SMT) equipment.
Your expertise will ensure the assembly of electronic components with the highest level of accuracy and efficiency. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about precision, technology, and contributing to the success of our organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Regular and predictable attendance required.
- SMT Machine Operation : Operate SMT equipment to include pick-and-place machines, solder reflow ovens, and stencil printers, to assemble electronic components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs).
- Quality Assurance : Perform self-inspections and quality checks to verify that electronic components are correctly placed, soldered, and meet quality standards.
- Maintenance : Clean and maintain to ensure consistent machine performance.
- Material Handling : Manage component reels, stencils, and solder paste, ensuring that materials are properly loaded into the SMT machines.
- Documentation : Maintain accurate records of production runs, equipment settings, and any issues encountered during the manufacturing process.
- Process Improvement : Collaborate with the production team to identify areas for process improvement and contribute to enhancing overall operational efficiency.
- Safety and Compliance : Adhere to safety protocols, guidelines, and compliance standards to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training or certification in electronics or SMT operations is a plus.
- Proven experience as a SMT Machine Operator or in a related field within the electronics manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in operating pick-and-place machines, solder reflow ovens, and stencil printing machines.
- Familiarity with SMT machine programming and software.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of safety and quality standards in electronics manufacturing.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Must have basic math skills. Add, subtract, multiply, divide.
- Must be able to solve practical problems, ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
SCHEDULE : 2nd shift - typically starts between 2 : 00-3 : 00pm
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
