Director of Prevention and Education Services

Position Overview : As the Director of Education and Prevention Services, you will lead a dynamic team dedicated to shaping the minds of our community members, both young and old.
Your role extends beyond the confines of our office, reaching into local schools and collaborating with community organizations to foster lasting relationships.
Key Responsibilities :
Strategic Planning and Vision :
- Create and ensure progress on 1 year, 3 year, and 5 year goals.
- Identify opportunities for team and program growth, particularly for community-level prevention work.
Leadership and Supervision :
- Lead and inspire our Education team, which includes Prevention Educators with expertise in Disability, Rape / Sexual Assault, and Domestic Violence.
- Supervise interns and volunteers within the department, providing guidance and mentorship.
- Ensure compliance with grant reporting requirements, tracking goals and objectives to demonstrate the impact of our programs.
- Provide coaching and conduct annual evaluations for CAPSA staff, fostering a culture of growth and excellence.
Education Programs Support and Partner Engagement :
- Build and maintain strong relationships with K-12 School Administrators to understand their needs and promote best practices in our educational curricula.
- Create and implement evidence-based, culturally relevant, and developmentally appropriate primary prevention education and awareness curricula, staying informed about the latest research-driven models and practices.
- Act as a liaison with allied community agencies, creating a network of support for our initiatives.
CAPSA Youth Council Support :
- Support the organization, recruitment, and training of CAPSA Youth Council members, empowering them to be ambassadors of change in their high schools.
- Support monthly Youth Council meetings, where education and service projects are planned to address the unique needs of our community's youth.
Coalition Participation :
- Serve as the chair of the Northern Utah Violence Prevention Education Coalition (NUVPEC).
- Participate in various community coalitions.
Qualifications :
A background in Public Health, Social Work, Sociology, Education, Communication, or a related field. Minimum of two years' experience in a teaching or training leadership role.
Comfortable with public speaking and presenting. Ability to build and nurture relationships with community organizations.
Experience managing teams and coordinating diverse priorities is preferred. Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) or Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) credential is preferred.
