A week in the life of a System Administrator (Journey) :
- Install, configure, and support an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems or a segment of a network system.
- Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users
- Provide technical assistance to computer users.
- Analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing network system
- Perform maintenance to ensure networks operate correctly with minimal interruption.
- Optimize the functionality and performance of hardware and software systems
- Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans and capabilities
- Respond to unexpected or unauthorized service interruptions and outages
- Diagnose software and hardware failures to resolution
- Implement and ensure security preventive measures are fully functioning
Job Requirements
- Must have current Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret. Interim TS to start. US Citizenship required.
- 3-5 years of experience in system administration
- COMPTIA Security+ or other DOD INST 8570 compliant qualification required.
- Operating system certification (i.e. Windows or Linux)
- Knowledge of networking principles, theories, and concepts and ability to contribute to the development of new and innovative principles and concepts.
- Linux experience, working knowledge

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $90,000-120,000.
Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
