Position Summary
Whitworth University invites applications for the position of Assistant Coach for Men's Basketball. We are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual who reports to the Head Men's Basketball coach and will provide leadership to student-athletes and assist in coaching the men's basketball team.
Duties include, but are not limited to, individual player development, recruiting, scouting, practice planning and implementation, travel arrangements, film exchange, and other assigned administrative tasks.
This is a full-time position working 10 months.
Core Responsibilities
Assistant Coaching 65%
- Organize and administer team travel logistics and home game management.
- Develop positive relationships with faculty, staff, students, and alumni while interacting favorably with department personnel and the university community.
- Contribute to fundraising efforts for the men's basketball program.
Other 10%
- Experience and track record of building positive relationships with athletes, parents, and fellow coaches, while cultivating a supportive and inclusive team environment.
- Experience and passion for cultivating student athletes' potential.

Licenses or Certifications
- Previous coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level.
- Experience in recruiting and retaining qualified student-athletes.
