Thoroughly testing the applications to ensure they are bug-free and running smoothly and debugging any issues that arise. Maintaining and upgrading the software to enhance functionality and security. Working with Application Engineers and other IT professionals to ensure software meets all requirements and integrates well with other systems. Creating detailed documentation to support the development and maintenance of the applications. Strong proficiency in programming languages such as PHP, TUI, Moodle, Lucee Cold Fusion, Java, C++, JavaScript, SQL. Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies. Proven experience in developing, testing, and debugging code. Good problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot software issues. Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and stakeholder interaction. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in in software development or programming, with a preference for experience in government or regulated sectors. Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident Must be able to obtain a position of public trust with the US Government

GBS is seeking a Software Developer - Applications - Senior to write efficient, maintainable, and scalable code in the required programming languages (PHP, TUI, Moodle, Lucee Cold Fusion, Java, C++, JavaScript, SQL).
Job Functions
- Diagnoses and resolves software defects quickly and effectively.
- Works effectively within cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and QA engineers.
- Participates in peer code reviews, providing constructive feedback and improving code quality.
- Completes assigned tasks within agreed-upon timelines while maintaining quality.
- Actively contributes to sprint planning and delivers on commitments during agile cycles.
- Provides clear, concise documentation for code, APIs, and system designs.
- Follows coding standards, guidelines, and best practices consistently.
- Ensures that applications perform well under various conditions and scales effectively.
