SUMMARY
Training is the foundation for building a highly efficient, skilled, and engaged team. The Pharmacy Trainer will be responsible for developing and executing training programs that will be utilized by pharmacy departments at each banner;
Price Chopper / Market 32 and Tops Markets. Training programs will enhance our pharmacy team member skills and knowledge in customer service, company policies, computerized dispensing systems, pharmacy inventory programs, and related software.
The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in program development, time management and organizational skills. Candidate must be able to work independently on projects while also coordinating training with other associates / departments throughout the organizations.
Primary focus will include initial training of new pharmacists, interns, and technicians as well as continuous training and skill development of current staff.
This position can be located in either Buffalo or Schenectady NY.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates pharmacist and / or support staff onboarding activities in connection with the Human Resources Department and Pharmacy Operations Team
- Develops and maintains a centralized Train the Trainer program for utilization throughout the pharmacy department
- Trains selected pharmacists and support staff on dispensing system and other supportive programs utilized by pharmacy teams to ensure success of a Train the Trainer program
- Maintains records of training activities along with teammate progress throughout their assigned programs
- Evaluates and monitors effectiveness of training programs being utilized every quarter
- Implements and coordinates pharmacy skills training programs for pharmacists, pharmacy interns, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy teammates
- Research and reviews new training materials / programs currently available
- Recommends improvements or revisions to training programs based on current needs or updated regulations
- Participates in implementation of Customer Service Training programs
- Participates in implementation of Pharmacy E-Learning Training programs
- Evaluates existing learning programs for Performance Improvement (PI) opportunities
- Facilitates and coordinates with pharmacy teams on national certification program for pharmacy technicians
- Participates in projects and works in groups to promote / develop / maintain professional relationships with all on-site Pharmacy Teams
- Monitors reports to ensure compliance with background checks and licensure requirements, monitors credentialing requirements of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management and adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey information both verbally and in writing.
- Must be willing to travel as needed
- Must have a Valid Driver’s License
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must submit to DL Monitoring
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree
- Human Resources Experience
- Certified Pharmacy Technician

The disclosed compensation range for this position is applicable within the state the position resides. The actual base pay offered will consider internal equity and may also vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
