Reporting to the On-Boarding Manager, the Training lead is responsible for leading and delivering Transit Team’s classroom curriculum and on-boarding training for all new hires.
This position is located in Burnsville, MN and is open to all that apply. The ideal candidate is someone who has extensive professional driving experience and enjoys leading in a classroom setting and engaging with adult learners.
Classroom training will be Monday-Wednesday from 8 : 00 AM until 4 : 30 PM with Thursday and Friday consisting of hands-on learning and closed course range work.
This position is one of two and responsibilities will be shared between the two parties. Schedules may vary depending on availability but work hours will be consistently 40 hours per week and occur Monday-Friday between the hours of 7 : 00 AM and 5 : 00 PM.
Pay is $25-$27.00 / hour depending on experience.
The role will require highly effective communication, motivation and project management skills while delivering oversight and support to local safety leadership.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Delivering classroom content in an engaging and thoughtful manner
- Tracking and recording of classroom attendance and comprehension
- Working with new hires to develop / deepen their understanding of what it takes to become a professional driver
- Working with Safety Department to integrate learnings from on-going operations into classroom curriculum
Qualification Requirements :
- Experience providing effective safety leadership : building, training, rewarding.
- Previous success providing direction, guidance, and coaching to diverse staff.
- Clean driving record, valid driver’s license, and ability to obtain a DOT Physical.
- Broad understanding of safety policies and transportation best practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Moderate knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
