Our 26-acre truck stop and travel center in North Portland is home to a hotel, movie theater, restaurant and lounge, convenience stores, gas station, delis, diesel truck service center, and our commercial fueling division.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Hotel General Manager position has overall responsibility for the Portlander Inn at Jubitz Travel Center, an independently operated 100-room hotel with all the amenities of a small town.

The General Manager will maximize hotel revenue by effectively managing online booking channels, small group sales, and rate-setting strategy.

Create a positive and productive work environment that values and validates team members though effective hiring, development, and retention of employees.

Utilize situational leadership principles to manage performance. Maximize profitability of the hotel and laundry through effective cost controls and achievement of productivity measurements.

Conduct company business and execute programs on behalf of the company in a professional manner with a focus on company-wide success.

  • Schedule : Generally, Tuesdays to Saturdays.
  • Location : Jubitz Portlander Inn, 10350 N Vancouver Way, Portland, OR 97217

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum two years direct experience as a Hotel General Manager with full P&L responsibility.
  • High School Diploma / GED required; Bachelors Degree in business, hospitality, or related field strongly desired.
  • Valid Oregon or Washington Drivers License with acceptable motor vehicle record.

DESIRED SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Strong knowledge and skill in the areas of hotel sales, revenue management, rate strategy, and management of online booking channels.
  • Proven ability to build a cohesive and high-performing team though staff development, trusting relationships, and positive employee relations.
  • Strong work ethic with demonstrated positive approach to creating world-class customer experiences.
  • Ability to identify & solve problems; develop systems & processes that create win / win situations for all parties.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Bilingual ability in English / Spanish is not required but would be an asset in this role.
  • Proficient using computer programs including the Microsoft Office suite and property management software (we use Agilysys).
