Strategic Sourcing Specialist

This person will develop innovative ways to reduce the length of time it takes to bring our products to market by optimizing workflow and improving our overall procurement efficiencies.

Travel to other branches will be required periodically. This is not a remote position. Responsibilities :

• Maintain while continually improving tactical and strategic ways to increase product speed to market.
• Identifying and selecting best-of-class suppliers, negotiating competitive pricing and lead times for products.
• Foster successful partnerships with suppliers.
• Problem-solving for complex supply-chain and procurement issues both tactically and strategically.
• The ability to effectively communicate about specific details needed to complete internal requests for new product information in a timely manner.
• Strong skill set in identifying needs within our supply chain and the ability to shift directions as needed to promote continuous improvement.
• Research supplier capabilities, quality processes, and product offerings.
• Perform Supplier Qualifications based on our company standards and requirements.
• Evaluate supplier quotations, terms, and conditions along with logistical elements related to driving speed-to-market.
• Perform QA and First Article inspections as needed.
• Monitor new product performance to ensure anticipated GPs are being met.
• Assist with slow-moving inventory (SMI) depletion and strategic ideas to reduce inventory days on hand (IDOH), improving working capital.
• Maintain organized supplier / manufacturer documentation related to initial qualification, quality records, product samples, technical drawings, artwork, and other relevant specifications as required by the customer.
• Oversee new product / item number set-up and requests, adhere to company standard for turnaround time once request has been received.
• Perform periodic reviews of our existing suppliers, existing product offerings, and new supplier opportunities to ensure we are procuring to optimal levels.
• Create and communicate internal quotes and adhere to company standards for turnaround time as determined by the Sales and Procurement management team.
• Identify sole, sourced products within our supply chain and develop risk mitigation strategies to ensure the stability of product availability.
• Establish clear expectations with suppliers for response times related to RFQs and other requests related to procurement.

Qualifications : This is a newly created position within our organization. We are excited to introduce this sales / procurement support role to more effectively reduce the time it takes to bring products to market in a dynamic and cost-effective way. Requirements :

• 2+ years of experience with planning, sourcing, and forecasting within a distribution environment
• 3+ years of packaging industry experience
• 2+ years of procurement experience Compensation : $72,000 - $89,000 yearly + bonus potential
