Academy of Art University is currently hiring for a Lead, Campus Safety Patrol Officer to lead a team that is vital to the safety of our blended student, faculty and staff population.
This person will assist the Supervisor, Campus Safety Patrol with the daily operations of the Patrol Team.
Responsibilities :
- Drive daily compliance on the following issues :
- Area of Responsibility forms are completed and approved.
- Reports are reviewed and approved.
- Patrol Officer uniforms are routinely inspected.
- Patrol vehicles are inspected for cleanliness and appropriately fueled.
- Conduct nightly Patrol strategy sessions.
- Ensure Patrol Officers are educated on the Campus Safety Manual.
- Drive foot patrol duties and assignments.
- Institute directives that enhance building check metrics.
- Provide break coverage to Campus Hosts and fellow Patrol Officers.
- Drive in-service training and participate in crime prevention events.
- Enhance the safety and security of the students and staff of the University.
- Maintain key control of all AAU structures.
- Report all building maintenance issues to the appropriate departments.
- Foster strategies with Campus Safety Dispatchers.
- Develop crime prevention strategies in partnership with the Associate Director.
- Collaborate with local Police / Fire and EMS agencies.
- Maintain strong knowledge of AAU collateral and communicate information to visitors, students, faculty and staff members.
- Maintain knowledge of each department; direct people to the appropriate person or department in an accurate and timely manner.
- Uphold an understanding of the campus both, academic and residential housing buildings.
- Support students with questions they may have about Academy procedures such as bus schedules, building locations and class schedules.
- Assist with special event coverage.
- Operate Academy and / or rental vehicle(s) while completing the above-referenced job duties and observe all applicable federal and state motor vehicle laws.
- Maintain valid California driver's license and insurability under AAU carrier.
Qualifications :
- Possess an active California Guard Card.
- Have a valid California driver's license and be insurable under the Academy's provider.
- Must be able to pass a driving test.
- A minimum of two years Supervisory experience
- Effectively communicate policies and safety procedures to a broad population.
- Use sound judgement in difficult situations and solve problems in an effective manner.
- Demonstrate exceptional customer service to everyone while performing assigned duties.
- Manage time well and be able to prioritize competing tasks.
- Be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to walk several city blocks at a time.
Pay : $26.00 / hour
This is an on-site position in San Francisco.
Work Hours : Full-Time : Working 4 days per week / 10 hours per shift
Any hours worked between 11 : 00 pm and 6 : 59 am are paid an additional $1.00 shift differential.
