Job Description
Skilled Technical Writer with expertise in Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for the process industries. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent writing skills, and the ability to synthesize technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation.
This role involves working closely with industry Subject Matter Experts (SME), product managers, and other stakeholders to create comprehensive sales tools (with cross-business group portfolio) in support of key process industries, including chemical, petrochemical, oil and gas, lifesciences, and metals and mining.
Key Responsibilities
- Documentation Creation :
- Develop, write, and maintain sales tools which organizes a portfolio of solutions to address customer challenges
- Create and update P&ID diagrams to represent where company solutions are used in a process
- Document process flows, control strategies, and instrumentation details based on P&IDs.
- Review and edit technical documents for clarity, accuracy, and completeness.
- Collaboration :
- Work closely with SME, product managers, and sales to gather information and understand products / solutions to address industry challenges
- Develop concise customer challenge statements and articulate how company solutions can address these challenges
- Work with creative team members to develop graphics and layout of sales tools
- Project Management :
- Act as the project lead, drive completion of project and provide status updates
- Content Management :
- Organize and maintain a comprehensive repository of product Value Enablers
- Implement version control practices to track changes and updates to documents.
- Conduct regular audits of sales tools to ensure ongoing relevance and accuracy.
- Training and Support :
- Help to develop training materials for sales on how to interpret and use Sales Tool and P&ID diagrams.
- Assist in the development of internal training materials related to Sales Tool roll-out to organization
Requirements
- Education :
- Degree in Communications, Technical Writing, or Business.
- Experience :
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Technical Writer, preferably within the process industries (Oil & Gas, Chemical or EPC)
- Proven experience with P&IDs and understanding of process industry standards
- Skills :
- Strong technical writing and editing skills.
- Proficiency in using software tools for creating and editing P&IDs (AutoCAD)
- Familiarity with industry-specific terminology and processes.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional and global teams
