Description
The Journeyman will work on construction job sites as assigned. Will move from one job site to another, this could be from a government client work site to a private sector worksite with changing priorities, rules and pay in accordance with established government regulations and B&I wages based on regions and experience.
Job Responsibilities :
- Responsible for electrical work as assigned to specific construction site and parameters of same.
- Assigns duties to Helpers as required and appropriate to Helper knowledge.
- Train and develop Helpers to ensure understanding and clarity of safe work practices while working within the electrical realm on all construction job sites.
Minimum Requirements :
- Must have experience at a Journeyman level or certification of Journeymen training by an accredited school.
- Must possess own tools applicable to line of work of that of a Journeyman.
- Must have knowledge of working tools listed below and ability to train Helpers on same as applicable.
- Must possess basic understanding of electrical work.
- Must possess lead capacity to train Helpers assigned to assist Electricians.
- Must understand all electrical protocols within projects assigned.
- Read and interpret plans, specifications and product data.
Safety Awareness : Must have strong understanding of safety protocols and PPE equipment for self and helpers.
Must follow established B&I safety guidelines when working on any and all construction sites.
Must possess lead capacity to train helpers on safe work practices.
Physical Requirements :
Must be able to see well (either naturally or with correction; must be able to hear, and speak clearly with professional standard grammar.
Must use hands, fingers, arms and legs fully; kneel, crouch and crawl; climb and balance on ladders and scaffolds; climb stairs, reach overhead, push, pull, lift, stoop.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, with assistance.
