Student Counseling Services at Creighton University in Omaha, NE is searching for a Psychologist or a Master's Level Therapist preferably with specialization in treating eating concerns.
Psychologist Job Description
The Psychologist position provides direct counseling to students and carries a caseload, by providing individual, group and couples counseling for Creighton students in the context of psychological services.
This position may also provide clinical supervision to mental health trainees. Psychological Assessment may be included as part of this role.
Duties could conduct assessments as a Licensed Psychologist and managing an asse ssment wait list, referring to community assessment services as needed, and managing the ordering and supply of psychological assessment instruments.

Psychologist Responsibilities
- Conducting intake interviews, assessing students' mental status through interviews or observations, and developing treatment plans or making referrals to the appropriate services.
- Provides clinical supervision to mental health trainees.
- Provides crisis intervention services, case management, and consultation services to faculty, staff and referral sources.
- Maintains appropriate professional documentation of all services within the Student Counseling Services electronic medical record.
- This position may also participate in and provide educational outreach to students, faculty or staff as needed, including but not limited to, facilitation of workshops and outreach presentations.
- May also serve on University or Divisional committees or work groups.

Psychologist Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Counseling or Psychology. Licensure (or eligible) as a Psychologist in Nebraska.
- 1+ years' post-degree experience in mental health setting.
- Previous experience working in a college setting or with college-aged students is preferred.
- Strong supervisory skills.
- Multicultural awareness and cultural humility are highly valued.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and basic computer skills are required.
- Ability to interact and work with various campus and community resources and partners.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills with an ability to develop and deliver outreach and educational programming to various audiences.
- Understanding of relevant confidentiality issues.
Therapist Job Description
The Therapist position provides direct counseling to students and carries a caseload, by providing individual, group and couples counseling for Creighton students in the context of psychological services .
This position will preferably have professional interest and experience in working with students presenting with body image concerns, disordered eating, exercise concerns, and weight-related issues.
The person will also provide crisis assessment and intervention, consultation, and outreach programming. Other responsibilities include maintaining electronic documentation of services, participating in committee work, sharing in weekly staff training, working on multidisciplinary teams, and maintaining relevant professional credentials.
The person must be able to work autonomously yet collaboratively. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.
Therapist Responsibilities

- Possesses experience and knowledge of working with clients who struggle with food and body image concerns.
- Demonstrates knowledge, sensitivity, and ability to work with students from diverse ethnic, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Provides crisis intervention services, case management, and consultation services to faculty, staff and referral sources.
- Maintains appropriate professional documentation of all services within the Student Counseling Services electronic medical record.
- This position may also participate in and provide educational outreach to students, faculty or staff as needed, including but not limited to, facilitation of workshops and outreach presentations.

Therapist Qualifications
- Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Clinical Social Work.
- Licensure (or eligible) as an Independent Mental Health Professional (LIMHP) in Nebraska. Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (LMHP) with experience may be considered.
- Previous experience working in a college setting or with college-aged students is preferred.
- Multicultural awareness and cultural humility are highly valued.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and basic computer skills are required.
- Ability to interact and work with various campus and community resources and partners.
