Job Description
UC Health is hiring a PRN MRI Technologist for the Radiology Department at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
An MRI Technologist will assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by producing diagnostic MR scans of various organs and structures of the human body.
Operates with minimal supervision, uses independent judgment to determine quality of images, and compliance with established protocols.

Responsibilities
- Communicates in a clear and appropriate manner with patients and staff while being able to identify and respond to varying needs according to the situation.
- Performs all aspects of MRI according to established protocols, which includes, explaining procedures to patients, reviewing safety protocol with patients and participating parties, and completed MRI procedures according to safety standards.
- Operates complex imaging equipment in a safe manner and reviews films for diagnostic acceptability.
- Reviews and administers medications according to physician direction and provides continuous care to patients after completed procedures.
- Prepares and administers contrast media or medications orally and by intravenous injection.
- Administers or assists in administering CPR or other emergency procedures as needed.
- Maintains appropriate records and supplies, participates in quality control, and evaluates department, equipment, and performance for areas of improvement.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements :
- Completion of a JRCERT-approved program in Radiologic Technology or an Associate degree in Radiologic, Nuclear, or Sonographic Technology
- Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or have equivalent certifications, Successfully completed and passed MRI registry.
- Current CPR certification by the American Heart Association
- Prefer one year of experience but not necessary.
- Must complete at least 24 hours of direct credit continuing education every 2 years
