Job Summary
The Regional Sales Manager for Latin America (RSMLA) is responsible for generating business opportunities and providing support to the Mizuho Group of companies’ medical device products and services to hospitals, clinics and physicians within the specifically defined geographic territory.
The RSMLA is responsible for managing a group of distribution partners and third-party sales representatives within a defined region located in Latin America.
The RSMLA is responsible for budgeting and establishing strategies to support the goals and values of Mizuho OSI. The RSMLA must work within our corporate policies and procedures.
The RSMLA compiles and reports on territory activities and achievement of goals and objectives to upper management.
Responsibilities :
Gain market knowledge and maintain awareness of procedures and new technologies and techniques to develop sales approach.
Maintain awareness, compile, and communicate competitive information on equipment and devices preferred by the marketplace.
Develop professional relationships with distributors and within the healthcare community, in assigned territory, with physicians, hospital management, hospital executives, procurement, and clinical personnel.
Evaluate customer’s needs and emphasize salable product features, using technical knowledge of capabilities and limitations of current product offering.
Educate and train customers on all Mizuho Group’s products. Attend surgical cases to support staff in the use of all Mizuho Group’s products and equipment as necessary.
Adhere to specific hospital protocols and procedures.
- Advise distributors and customers of equipment for a given need based on technical knowledge of the market procedures and products.
- Represent the Mizuho Group’s products at tradeshows and courses when requested to do so.
- Uncrate and set up capital equipment at any facility or trade show.
- Provide and maintain a portable computer in order to conduct business.
- Complete and submit accurate expense reports to document activity and expenditures in a timely manner according to the Expense Policy.
- Train and instruct, by passing along skills and information to assist distributors and assigned third-party employees in their development and advancement.
- Strive to become an independent employee able to analyze problems and formulate plans to overcome challenges and to get work done quickly with a high degree of quality.
- Help create an ongoing effort to improve the Company and the International Sales Department through personal action and by contributing ideas to support both the Department and Company’s ongoing improvement efforts.
- Understand Mizuho OSI’s business objectives and the relationship between the Department and those objectives; to support and follow the Corporate Vision, Mission & Values Statements.
- Understand, follow and support Mizuho OSI’s internal Quality System policies, procedures and work instructions including but not limited to applicable external regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements :
Latin America Regional Sales Manager - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field; two years of progressively responsible medical capital sales experience;
or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred experience in working and managing dealers and distributors within the healthcare industry.
- Must be able to read and write in Spanish.
- Ability to effectively make formal and informal product presentations to individuals as well as to large groups, including physicians, RNs and other OR staff.
- Knowledge of the Discovery Process.
- Critical thinking and strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to function in an operating room environment and attend surgical procedures as necessary.
- Ability to effectively and independently manage time and territory.
- Ability to travel about 50 75%.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
- Neat and professional appearance and outgoing people-oriented personality.
- Excellent computer skills including operating Windows based personal computers, various office equipment and machines, and telephone system.
- Ability to clearly express oneself verbally in both the English and Spanish languages (Portuguese language also preferred).
- Excellent customer focus with a high sense of urgency.
- Ability to function calmly in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to clearly and effectively express oneself through written means, to properly use such technical factors as grammar, punctuation, vocabulary, and correct spelling.
- Excellent facilitation skills, including the ability to create presentations and facilitate effective group presentations.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic functions, create and reconcile reports, demonstrate strong analytical skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to establish and accomplish goals independently and to function as a positive and productive team member.
