The licensing & compliance specialist is responsible for securing and obtaining various licenses for the organization to ensure compliance with licensing requirements across various states and jurisdictions.
They support the legal department in various compliance related projects and functions, including paralegal and safety program administration.
Duties :
- Procure various licenses and registrations for the business including business licenses, Secretary of State registrations, contractor licenses and professional licenses
- Renew and maintain business licenses
- Research and advise on licensing and registration requirements
- Create certificates of insurance
- Conduct client and vendor due diligence
- Manage intellectual property schedule, notaries, and certificates of insurance throughout the organization
- Operate with a high level of attention to details
- Keep strong communication with governing bodies of licensure
Qualifications Required :
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
- Minimum of 1 year experience obtaining and maintaining licenses for businesses required
- Possess exemplary written and verbal communication skills, ability to work independently with minimal supervision, ability to prioritize and be responsible for multiple projects while maintaining a great attention to detail and organization
Qualifications Preferred :
- Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate is preferred; or 2 years' experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Understanding of building design and construction process preferred
- Notary Public, or ability to become Notary Public
