Job Description
The Childcare / Transportation Coordinator is responsible for coordinating childcare and transportation for families attending groups at the Erie Family Center.
Key responsibilities include :
- Scheduling and communicating with families regarding childcare and transportation needs.
- Assisting in the childcare room during group sessions.
- Transporting families to and from group sessions as necessary.
- Demonstrating educational activities and fostering developmentally appropriate practices.
- Supporting children in language, motor skills, social, emotional, health, and physical development for ages birth to twelve.
Qualification Requirements
Education : Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred, or High School Diploma / GED with 3+ years of experience working with young children and families.
Employment Requirements
- Must pass a Criminal Record History Clearance, FBI and Child Abuse History Clearance.
- Current CPR / First Aid certification.
- Valid PA Driver's License.
- Must pass a physical exam and drug screening.

Work Responsibilities
- Schedule and manage all childcare and transportation needs for various groups.
- Communicate family needs with group facilitators.
- Orient parents to childcare room policies and assist with paperwork.
- Attend to children’s needs, ensuring a safe and engaging environment.
- Encourage positive child interactions to foster self-esteem and confidence.
- Plan and lead developmentally appropriate activities.
- Address challenging behaviors as per Erie Family Center’s guidelines.
- Travel as required within and outside Erie County.
- Complete tasks as assigned by the Executive Director or Supervisor.
