Vaco in Atlanta is actively looking for a Network Infrastructure Engineer for a consulting opportunity with our client here in Atlanta! This will be a HYBRID role and will be 3 days in-office / week.
The Network Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for supporting, implementing and managing the infrastructure that supports the client's IT platforms.
This role involves working alongside infrastructure vendors and partners to support and manage a broad range of systems including cloud, on-premise and virtual platforms.
The Engineer will collaborate with all areas of the IT Operations department supporting infrastructure for the helpdesk, infrastructure architect and data services team.
Platforms will include Fortinet switching, routing, firewalls, M365, Azure, etc.

What you will be doing :
- Serve as the primary interface between the IT staff and technology service providers for data center and cloud services.
- Install, configure and manage IT infrastructure including networks, virtual servers, backup solutions, cloud platforms, and other system infrastructure.
- Work at the direction of the security team to remediate audit and penetration test findings, coordinate responses to security incidents and responses to customer due diligence inquiries.
- Implement security measures and policies identified by the security team to protect data, software, and hardware.
- Document relevant operational processes to ensure reliability of the infrastructure environment.
- Configure and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Collaborate with all other areas of IT Operations to ensure efficient operation of the company's desktop computing environment and technology utilities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues surfaced from tier 1 and 2 technical support or security operations related to IT infrastructure.
- Disaster recovery test plan procedures
- Security response procedures and incident documentation
- System configuration documentation, network topology and architecture maps
- Infrastructure architecture and configuration diagrams
- Strong understanding of security protocols in networking, email, document security and infrastructure platform security.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a network engineer, system administrator, support technician analyst, or similar role.
- Microsoft and / or networking certifications are desired but not required.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, or relevant similar work experience.
