We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Service Technician to join our team and cover our clientele in the Midwest region.
Job Description : As a Regional Service Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning of our equipment.
This remote role requires significant travel, with approximately 50-60% involving overnight stays and 20-30% day trips by car within the territory.
You will need to have a strong foundation in both electrical and mechanical maintenance, as well as the ability to handle high-pressure situations in front of customers.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning of equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues, including PLCs and voltages ranging from 120V to 480V.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints.
- Handle customer interactions professionally, maintaining composure in high-pressure situations.
- Travel extensively within the Midwest region, with overnight stays as required.
Qualifications : Must Haves :
- 5+ years of experience in a relevant field.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including experience with PLCs.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and assemble machinery.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively.
- Good presentation skills and ability to handle high-pressure situations.
Pluses :
- B.S. or A.A.S. or Certifications in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related fields.
- Experience with the installation, maintenance, repair, and commissioning of capital equipment, especially packaging equipment (e.
g., baggers, weights, vertical form fill seal, horizontal form fill seal machines).
- Knowledge of automation technology and automated equipment (e.g., conveyors, robots).
- PLC programming experience.
- Bilingual abilities.
Training :
- Initial 2-3 months of training at our facility, including hotel accommodation (if they choose to go home during weekends, it's at their own expense).
- Follow-up field training for two weeks, and then an additional two weeks back at our facility.
- Must pass a technical assessment focused on electrical troubleshooting, reading schematics, and documenting fixes.
