Job Title : Project Accountant
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Schedule monthly project review meetings and issue sheets to all applicable project managers.
- Update the Estimated Cost to Complete upon completion of the project review meetings and send out meeting minutes. If necessary, fill in for the Manager of Project Accounting to lead the project reviews.
- Follow up on open action items from Project Review meetings, including working with the Project Managers, Project Assistants, A / P, and other Accounting Personnel.
- Work with the liaison from the local branch to gather information to complete the weekly reports and the monthly closings.
- Assist with the month-end close process.
- Every month, close completed jobs in the ERP System
- On an annual basis, inactivate completed jobs and perform other related clean-up items within the ERP System
- Prepare monthly forecast.
- Create and fill out necessary risk assessment forms when a job is booked where applicable.
- Track and follow up on risk assessment values for projects over $K.
- Assisted with both internal and external auditors for project-related requirements.
- Assist with correcting billing if needed.
Job Specifications (incl. Education requirements, minimal experience, computer skills required, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field from an accredited university.
- years’ experience in working in business administration.
- years’ experience in project accounting.
- Understanding Coins Accounting Software is a plus.
- Understanding of WIP and construction-based accounting in general is required.
- Self-motivated and a good communicator, both written and oral.
- Must have excellent planning and organizational skills and be self-driven.
- Lien Release and Lien Law knowledge.
- Notary experience preferred.
