GENERAL MANAGER (PLASTIC MOLDING) Our client is seeking a General Manager for their Ankeny, Iowa facility to aid in its continued support of customers and business growth.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the entire Value Stream, including P&L for the plant operations while supporting the Corporate Vision, Mission and Strategy.
This individual will supervise a direct staff and lead, coach, direct and coordinate activities of all operational department(s) in manufacturing products.

RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Oversee day-to-day operations.
- Drive manufacturing operating policy supported by lean concepts, to realize business strategy.
- Drive best practices and accountability for all aspects of plant performance, ensuring objectives are attained in a cost-effective manner that is consistent with customer, quality and safety requirements, and ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
- Support, co-coordinate, and initiate sales opportunities with corporate sales team.
- Guide, coach and support team members and teams to perform their roles successfully. Includes interviewing, hiring, and training employees;
planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving challenges.

REQUIREMENTS :
- Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology or Business or equivalent work experience (20+ years manufacturing leadership experience).
- 10-15 years of experience in operations management, in highly engineered, plastic injection molding industry, with P&L responsibility at a plant / division level.
- Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement knowledge and implementation experience.
- Experience as a people leader with strong business acumen and analytical ability.
- Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills.
- Problem solving aptitude.
- Experience in being the lead change agent in complex transformational activities.
- Must have a passion for and strong beliefs in constant improvement.
