The purpose of the Human Resources Department at Fayetteville State University is to support the institutional mission by providing comprehensive and timely human resource services with respect to recruitment and employment, benefits administration, classification and salary administration, staff development and training, employee safety and health, and employee relations for all staff employees, SHRA and EHRA non-faculty.
The Human Resources Department also monitors the recruitment and hiring process and provides benefits administration and other HR services for faculty members.
In addition, the Associate Vice Chancellor of Human Resources is designated as the University Affirmative Action Officer with full responsibility for the University’s programs of Equal Employment Opportunity through Affirmative Action.
Description of Work Continued : Primary Purpose of the Position :
The Human Resources Consultant will be responsible for the development and delivery of professional learning and organizational development programs for SHRA and EPS staff, as well as faculty, campus-wide in support of the university’s strategic goals.
The Consultant will collaborate with division / department leaders to analyze professional learning needs, design programs, develop content, implement learning initiatives, and evaluate program outcomes.
As a certified trainer, the Consultant will conduct leadership training programs. The position will also be an Administrator for the Cornerstone Learning Management System.
Minimum Education And Experience Requirements : A bachelor’s degree and two years of progressively responsible experience analyzing, interpreting, applying, communicating, and promoting HR best practices in the context of organizational goals and objectives.
Degrees must be from appropriately accredited institutions. Knowledge, Skills And Abilities :
- Effectively lead the Training and Development program within established guidelines.
- Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
- Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
- Ability to design and implement practical training and development.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software.
- Communicate effectively through verbal and written means with individuals, small groups, and in front of large audiences at all levels of the organization.
- Establish and maintain collaborative professional relationships to facilitate effective training programs and problem resolution for divisions and departments.
- Provide guidance, counsel, and advice on best practices that help achieve desired results and are in the University’s best interest.
- Improve processes and procedures to respond to organizational needs effectively.
- Managed work performance to ensure individual and work unit goals were achieved.
Preferred Qualifications :
- A master’s degree in Human Resources or Organizational Development
- DDI Certification
- Knowledge of Title III or related Federal Programs.
- Knowledge of NC Office of State Human Resources / UNC training and development programs.
- Knowledge of NC Office of State Human Resources / UNC policies and procedures.
