We are seeking a strong, dynamic, outgoing individual as our Director of Admissions, responsible for overseeing and directing the coordination of all referrals and admissions into the facility.

Responsibilities of Admissions Director :

• Manage leads in all referral sources, reviewing documentation of potential new admissions ensuring appropriate, timely responses on behalf of the facility.
• Authority to approve admissions based on facility admission criteria and bed availability.
• Maintain and foster referral source relationships and support the implementation of the organization’s marketing plan.
• Ensure financial verification is accurate and complete before the patient is admitted to the facility.
• Obtain authorizations as needed and maintain a working knowledge of managed care referral processes.
• Build and increase the total volume of inquiries and facility referral base to meet or exceed budgeted census goals.
• Maintain accurate daily updates on the Marketing Information System ensuring all data elements are inputted so that reports can be generated on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Maintain a close working relationship with the DON, BOM, NHA, and SW to assure appropriate and efficient decisions about prospective admissions.
• Work with Marketing / Hospital Liaison to determine the need for potential on-sites and maintain ongoing relationships.
• Oversee Room Readiness with the Housekeeping Supervisor / Director of Environmental Services.
• Keep accurate records and create reports of activities and outcomes on a daily / weekly basis.
• Conduct the admission process of signing in and explaining admission policies to patients and their families, ensuring a smooth transition and that all paperwork is complete upon admission.

Emphasize financial arrangements and responsibilities.

Requirements of Admissions Director :

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two to five years of experience in a skilled nursing environment, customer service, admissions focused.
• Experience in working with vulnerable adult populations or equivalent.
• Able to understand and follow written and verbal directions; proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Ability to work as part of a team and function independently.
• Knowledge of area hospitals and other local healthcare organizations preferred but willing to train.
• Fundamental knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and skilled nursing facility operations.
• Demonstrates strong communication and relationship-building skills with residents and can explain residents’ needs to others as needed for resident advocacy.
